Six Sentence Sunday

This is my first Six Sentence Sunday!

These lines were taken from DAMAGED COWBOYS

The sweet innocence that had once surrounded her no longer lingered. Part of her felt shame for not being the girl she used to be, wishing nothing had changed, no time had passed. She wanted to run through the hay fields, using her imagination to keep her busy until well after dark. She wanted to play fetch with the dogs until they tired first, or imagine the bogeyman creeping up to the windows after dark as the fire reflected off the glass. Things could never go back because she knew better now. The bogeyman was all too real.
