Let's get to know Xondra...
1.) What got you started writing m/m romance?
Interesting question. I have always been a fan of m/m romance and erotica, but up until late last year, I had never considered writing it. I have spent most of my adult life living within the gay community surrounded by many gay friends. So, after I published a couple of straight romances, I thought I would try my pen at it. There has been no looking back since. I love it.
2.) You have been pumping out the books. How many words do you normally write a day?
This varies. I have days where I can write a couple thousand and others where I write very little. The most I have ever written in one day was seven thousand words. My brain went numb after that.
3.) What is your favorite genre to read and write?
My favourite genre is romance, with horror coming in a close second to read. I prefer to write romance, again with horror coming in second.
4.) Do you plot or go with the flow when you write?
I start with a general idea. After that initial idea, I think of ways to expand it. Often it starts with just a name, then I think about how that person functions, their personality and what's the driving force behind them. The rest flows easily after that.
5.) What are you working on now and what can we expect from you in the future?
I have just had a m/m paranormal romance, The Blood Between accepted for publication with Evernight Publishing. I am looking forward to getting into the edits for that one. Currently, I am working on a full length historical m/m romance set in the 1930s.
I have two more novellas coming out later this year (summer). The first is a m/m/f menage with Siren-Bookstrand Publishing, and the other is with Total-E-Bound. I plan on working on a few more shorter works to keep me busy while I wait.
When I think of the future and my writing career, I would hope to build a solid readership. The readers are the most important thing to any author. Without them, we wouldn't have a career. And of course, I'd like a
big contract. That's my dream.
